A "Thank You" for our Firemen...

Cee Lo is not forgetting firemen.  The RnB superstar has remade his Grammy award winning single, "Forget You" into an appreciation anthem entitled, "Thank You".  The song is all about thanking firemen and other emergency response personnel.  Teaming with Duracell's "Power of those who Protect Us" program.  The Lady Killer is using the major success of the single to raise awareness.  All of the proceeds of the project go to the National Volunteer Fire Council.  The council is a non profit organization that covers the interests of Fire, E.M.S., and Rescue Services through out the country.  The Choice to remake the single was an easy one for Cee Lo when it came to this song.  His mother was one of the first African American female firefighters in Atlanta, Georgia.

The song is available for free on Duracell's Facebook Page.

Now I do not know about anyone else, but "Forget You" is wearing me thin.  It has been every where for months: commercials, shows, the radio, 'Glee'.  However, when I came across this, I immediately picked up the track.  My father is a volunteer firefighter, so are my two step brothers, and several uncles.  I think anytime a musician can use their talents, art, and celebrity for good is great.  Firefighting and other emergency response groups do not get the credit they do.  My brothers constantly use the phrase, " We run in while everyone else is running out".  Take a minute to think about that.  And while you are thinking, pick up the Cee Lo's single and check out a really amazing cause!
