Ben Folds Five are back...

2012 must be the year of reunions.  No one has heard from Ben Folds Five since 2008.  Back then, the band reunited for the first time in a decade to play their last album, The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner.  Besides the solo career of singer-pianist Bens Fold, the 90s indie rock band has been non-existent.  On the night of January 24th, that all changed.  Folds tweeted a picture of himself in a studio with drummer Darren Jessee and bassist Robert Sledge.

The release will be Ben Folds Five's fourth studio album.  The only news of the album so far is that it will have a spring release.

Slave to the Game goes to Victory...

After announcing that they have re-signed with Victory Records, Emmure will be releasing a new album on April 10th.  The deathcore band had a four-album deal with the record label, and decided to re-sign.  Slave to the Game will be produced by Joey Sturgis, who also did the production for 2011's Speaker of the Dead.  The album will be the band's first with drumer Mark Castillo.  Castillo left the band Crossfade to drum with Emmure.  He is also formerly of Between the Buried and Me and Bury Your Dead.  Lead singer Frankie Palmeri sent out a video to fans recently explaining all of the news surrounding the band and the release of Slave to the Game.

Who's in the Studio?...

It's a new year, and for a lot of artists, it's time to make some new music.  Here is just a few bands that have went back into the studio in the last month.

After touring since the release of last year's Lucky StreetGo Radio head back into the studio starting...today! Fans can expect a new full length album off of Fearless Records later in the year.

Converge hit the studio to record their eighth full length album.  The album will be produced again by their guitarist, Kurt Ballou.  The band is recording at Godcity Studios in their hometown of Salem, Massachusetts.  Epitaph/Deathwish Inc. are pushing for a September release.

Both  The Spill Canvas and Miss May I put up video posts recently about their recording experiences.

Hot Water Music headed to Colorado's Blasting Room Studios to start recording finally.  The band has not released an album since 2004's The New What Next.  This will also be the band's first on Rise Records.

From the sounds of a recent video update, For All Those Sleeping's second album sounds pretty decent.  As long as the guys don't goof around too much, their second full length can be expected this summer.

Pre-production is done for The Gaslight Anthem's fourth full length.  The band is currently working in Nashville Tennessee on their first record for Mercury Records.

TesseracT have announced they are working on an acoustic E.P.. It will be released in the spring time and will sport the vocals of newest member Elliott Coleman.

Lastly, starting next month, Senses Fail will begin writing for their new album.  It will be their follow up to The Fire from 2010.
