New Video Premieres....

Yesterday, Gym Class Heroes premiered their video for their single, "Ass Back Home" featuring Neon Hitch via ryanseacrest.com . The video can now be found on YouTube.  "Ass Back Home" if off Gym Class Heroes latest album, The Papercut Chronicles II.

Also just a half hour ago, Rise Records tweeted that a new video from Attack Attack! was released.  The song is called "The Motivation", making it the first mew music heard from the crabcore king's upcoming album, This Means War.  The record hits stores January 17, 2012.  Ever wanted to hear what Attack Attack would sound like with out all the auto-tune and techno? Take a listen!

For some odd reason, the auto-tune of T-Pain and Lily Allen's amazing voice works. Not only works, but is now stuck in my head. It doesn't hurt that Wiz Khalifa puts his two sense in on the song as well. A classy song to explain the art of the "booty call".

Back at it with a New Gym Class...

So I guess I wound up taking the whole summer off and for that I apologize. With that play on lyrics and words, lets jump right back in...

On Tuesday, Fueld By Ramen  released "Martyrial Girl$" by Gym Class Heroes.  The song is the second single off the up and coming album, The Papercut Chronicles II.  The single has seemed to bring a sigh of relief to old G.C.H. fans; while probably having new fans intrigued.  "Stereo Hearts" was the band's first single off the album and has had nothing but radio and commercial success. "Martyrial Girl$" is sonically stronger and harsher then the first single. Returning fans have been happy to hear that the sugary sweetness of "Stereo Hearts" will not coat the entire album.  With guitar riffs galore, filters to make that "punk" sound, and straight up lyrics, lead singer Travis McCoy and the rest of the band let everyone know they are not down for materialism.  The only part that seems to be lacking is in the chorus, which comes off a little elementary and out of place.

With the recent success of "Stereo Hearts" and the buzz about "Martyrial Girl$" within 48 hours, it's not hard to understand why The Papercut Chronicles II is slated to be one of the biggest releases this fall. Originally planned to be in stores already, Gym Class Heroes pushed the album back to November 15.  The reasoning behind this was the band felt they could put more work into the record and thought that was the best idea for their fans.  The album will have reoccurring music and themes from the original, The Papercut Chronicles, an obvious statement with lyrics like "On my papercut shit again/Thank God for walkmans" stated here on the second single.  Artists are supposed to grow and mature from album to album, however that can sometimes be a downfall.  Fans will always either love it or hate it, it's a risk every artist has to take with new material.  With the difference between the first two singles, I think it is safe to say Gym Class Heroes have explored new sounds without damaging their roots.

• Taking Back Sunday: "It Doesn't Feel a Thing like Falling"- First off, I can not stop playing this ENTIRE album.  Go pick it up! Again, my favorite off the record.
• Skillrex: "Cinema(remix)"- My shameless techno song of the week.  The lyrics have been stuck in my head for days; partially the reason I love it so much.
• Craig Owens: "Bibles and Bandages"- My future husband Mr. Owens just released this last night and it has been on replay ever since.
• Motion City Soundtrack: "Even if it Kills Me"- These lyrics speak to my life right now.  It's nice to be hopeful when all seems lost.
• The Devil Wears Prada: "Born To Loose"- First new single since their Zombie E.P..  I am absolutely loving it.
• Swizz Beats ft. Eve: "Every Day (I'm Coolin')- The beat is addicting.  Plus when I was younger, I thought Evie E was the baddest bitch ever haha
• Andy Grammer: "The Pocket"- PLEASE GO BUY THIS MAN'S RECORD! Little known fact, I went to high school with Andy and not only is very, very talented, but he is a sweetheart.  Something good has finally come out of Monroe, NY.
• Every Avenue: "Fall Apart"- Leaked on Alt Press, I decided to listen and actually liked.
• 30H!3: "Robot"- I just want to let everyone know, I find them to be so annoying.  With that said, this song has been stuck in my head since I checked it out because 30H!3 has that way of penetrating your brain!

One Gym Class not worth skipping...

When Emo/Pop/Punk started to crash the charts, the music industry, and our brains, one band did it with a very funny,fresh sound.  That band was Gym Class Heroes.  With front man Travie McCoy singing hysterical lyrics against funky beats, G.C.H. had some pretty memorable hits with songs like, "The Queen and I" and of course "Cupid's Choke Hold".  But that was back in 2005.  Since then, Gym Class Heroes have almost virtually fizzled out, unfortunate next to some of their more annoying counterparts.  Travie McCoy stayed in the spotlight though, with the release of his fist solo project Lazarus.  He has since spent most of this past year promoting and touring with major name acts.  McCoy recently sat down with MTV however to discuss Gym Class Heroes recent moves towards a new album.

As early as this summer, The Paper Chronicles II could be new music to our ears.  McCoy tells MTV that the band is in the final recording stages of this album after a year of work.  Gym Class Heroes have almost 40 demos for the upcoming album.  One track they will talk about is "Stereo Hearts", featuring vocals from Adam Levine, front man to Maroon 5.  Special guests on the rest of the album? Big names but being kept a major secret.  GCH are going to keep a lot of their original sound, but aren't hesitant to try something new.  The album will be a like a sequel to The Paper Chronicles I, having intros to songs that were outros on the first record.  Gym Class Heroes are hoping this record will show their growth sonically.

This news is definitely something I like to hear.  I have been a huge fan of GCH, before they even hit the mainstream.  "Crab Apple Kids" is one of my favorite songs, and that is off of their first album ever.  Travie McCoy's solo album was one of my favorites last year, and ya know he is such a cutie with all of those tattoos.  But even though Lazarus was a great success, it was lacking many qualities that GCH's sound has.  They have always been a fun, upbeat, interesting sounding band.  They also put on a great live show, and like I just said, having a second reason to see McCoy is never a bad thing. To me, GCH is that band you play at a BBQ, in the car while cruising in the summer, or anything that involves fun.  So I am totally looking forward to anymore news about The Paper Chronicles II and its future release :)
