Your Weekly Bamboozle Update...

So now that half of the headliners have been revealed, The Bamboozle Festival announcements will start to roll in. Three day passes and V.I.P. bundles are on sale now, and single day tickets will be available for purchase sometime mid January. The line up is said to be the biggest and best Bamboozle can offer their fans for the ten year anniversary. I do want to state this: if a line up announcement is not made via the festival's website or twitter(specifically @bamboozlepress) do not consider it official.  Look to those two spots for confirmations on any speculation.

After gaining 500 followers on their twitter last night, John D and The Bamboozle Festival released episode one of The Gursky Project.  The Gursky Project is a documentary showing fans all the behind the scenes effort that is going on for this year's festival.  John D met Sam Gursky in early 2011  and the two decided to work together on this project.  Every two-three weeks the festival will launch a new episode.  The project gives a better look into what really goes on to set up the festival and who is involved in what areas.  Also, the video may provide some hints and clues to acts not yet announced for the festival.

Mix Tape #11

So since the holiday season is in full swing and the countdown to Christmas and Hanukkah ends this week, I thought I would do a special mixtape this week and post my favorite 15 Christmas songs remixed by a few of my favorite bands.  Note, these are just remixes of traditional songs, if I tried to go into songs bands actually wrote about the holidays the list would have been huge!

August Burns Red: "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen"

Rest of the Mixtape:
  • Brand New: "O Holy Night"
  • States: "All I Want for Christmas is You"
  • New Found Glory: "The Christmas Song"
  • VersaEmerge:"You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch"
  • Anthony Green and Mindy White: "Baby It's Cold Outside"
  • The Almost: "Little Drummer Boy"
  • Death Cab for Cutie: "Christmas(Baby Please Come Home)"
  • Copeland: "Do You Hear What I Hear?"
  • Hellogoodbye: "Happy Christmas(War is Over)"
  • Mae: "Carol of the Bells"
  • Diamond: "Christmas Time is Here"
  • Craig Mabbitt: "Making Christmas" *
  • Balance and Composure" "Away In a Manger"
  • VersaEmerge: "Santa Baby"
*Okay so I know this is not a "traditional" holiday song, but I am in love with that movie and that version!

An Official Announcement from the Clowns...

Officially announced this morning on Jersey's WRAT radio, John D is proud to present:

Even though the information was leaked several hours before hand, the response has still been an amazing one.  Rumors of the three have been flying around for quite some time now, so it is nice for fans to finally have them confirmed.  Ticket prices seem to be the center of controversy this year however.  A three day pass is quoted at $295, before taxes and a $9 fee for the new bracelet system the festival is using.  My advice to fans is this, do not worry.  The festival has never dissapointed, and with over a hundred bands slated, the money is well worth it.  I am a seasoned veteran to this festival and it has never done me wrong!

With the headlining announcement this morning also came the unvieling of the third installment of the 2011 Bamboozle Documentary.  The third part rounds out the documentary quite nicely; with clips with Man Overboard and of course Lil Wayne, just showing the diversity of the festival.  It also ends nicely with a great clip of John D. Check it out here!

Mix Tape 10

I remember the first time I heard The Maine. I was looking up bands going to Bamboozle and downloaded a few songs. I instantly fell in love with the band that did the cutest remake of Akon's "I Wanna Fuck You". Now fast forward all these years.  I have grown up and so have The Maine.  Everything on Pioneer has this mature sound that you might not have expected out of the band, but you're glad it's playing in your ear drums!

The Rest of the Mixtape:
  • The Rapture: "Sail Away"
  • Feist: "How Come You Never Go There"
  • Hot Chelle Rae: "I Like It Like That"
  • Foster the People: "Call it What You Want"
  • Dia Frampton Ft. Kid Cudi: "Don't Kick the Chair"
  • Cymbals Eat Guitars: "Keep Me Waiting"
  • Cloud Nothings: "Stay Useless"
  • She & Him: "Gonna Get Along Without You Now"
  • Silverstein: "Brookfield"
  • Of Fortune and Fame: "Forevermore"
  • Placeholder: "Give Up
  • Mansions on the Moon: "Leaves Fall"
  • Mike Posner: "Looks Like Sex"
  • The SpacePimps: "The Glory Days"

Bamboozle Documentary Part 2...

First off let me apologize for having to play catch up.  A broken laptop = a very unhappy writer! With that said....

Last Sunday, John D and the rest of the LincStar/Bamboozle family released the second part of the documentary of last year's festival.  The piece features interviews with Taking Back Sunday, New Found Glory, and Vinny Carauna of I am the Avalanche about the MovieLife reunion.  It also takes a moment to feature The Gaslight Anthem, who John D calls the "breath of fresh air to the scene" and We are the In Crowd.  The third installment of the documentary will air at 9pm on December 13th, but if you can not wait that long like I can't, there is a link on the bamboozle website where you can watch the piece at 6a.m via AOL's Noisecreep.com
